Nella miniera di amianto denominata dello "Sferlun" (inattiva)
e nella discarica sottostante sono stati trovati i campioni migliori di
demantoide, varieta' verde di andradite. La miniera e' di difficile accesso,
molto esposta, all'interno le rocce sono scivolose e necessitano corde di
sicurezza. Piu' facile l'accesso alle discariche, visibili da Tornadri .Quota

In the chrysotile mine named "Sferlun" (inactive) and in
the underlaying dumps have been found the best demantoids (a green-variety
of andradite). The access to the mine is very difficult and dangerous. In
the galleries the rock is slippery and exposed, security mountain ropes
are required. More easy is the access to the dumps, visible from the village
of Tornadri. Quote of the mine: 1875 m height about |
| Itinerari:La miniera e' localizzata
nella parte alta della parete rocciosa ed e' raggiungibile attraverso una piccola cengia.
Si procede in auto da Sondrio per Campo Franscia e da qui fino al ristoro a meta' strada
per la diga di Campo Moro. Dal ristoro un sentiero attraversa il torrente e sale verso il
dosso di Acquanegra. Giunti sulla cresta si diparte una traccia che conduce scendendo
sulla destra alla miniera dello Sferlun e sulla sinistra verso la zona di Acquanegra dove
sono stati pre trovati discreti campioni di demantoide. La miniera dista dal ristoro circa
45 minuti. Per quanto riguarda la discarica il percorso migliore e' di portarsi nella
valletta che si incontra prima dell'ultima galleria per giungere a Campo Franscia ( Val
Brutta). Un piccolo sentiero accessibile dopo aver traversato il ponte sul torrente
Lanterna sale sulla sinistra idrografica in direzione delle rocce sovrastanti Tornadri. La
discarica e' raggiungibile in circa 1ora di cammino. In due punti anche questo sentiero
richiede attenzione essendo esposto e scivoloso. Altezza delle discariche da 1600 a 1800
m. circa. |

Routs: The mine is situated on the
high part of the rocky walls and can be reached crossing a small ledge. By car from
Sondrio to Campo Franscia and fhen in direction of Campo Moro. Let the car stay at the
parking place of the restaurant "Ristoro". A small path starts from the bridge
on the small stream and leads to the crest of Acquanegra . To the summit of the crest the
path split up, turning to the right towards a very small ledge and then to the Sferlun
mine; and to the left going up to the locality of Acquanegra where demantoid can also be
found. The mine is at 45 minutes about from the "ristoro" . Concerning the dumps
the best way to reach them is to reach by car the small valley before the last tunnel to
Campo Franscia, named "Val Brutta".A path starts on the left hydrographic side,
after the bridge on the Lanterna stream and going up in the direction of the rocky walls
overstanding Tornadri. The dumps can be reached after 1 hour walking about. Please take
attention because in two points also this path is dangerous being slippery and exposed on
the rocks. Dumps height: from 1600 up to 1800 m about. |
